Searching Cases by Name
The Wilson County TNCRTINFO form accepts a party name or case reference. A full first and last name gives the best chance of a match. Partial first names may fail. Do not combine a person's name with a case reference. Quotation marks create a phrase search, while the checked “match all search terms” control narrows compound terms.
- Open the public Search page, not Subscription Login.
- Enter the fullest known party name, using no more terms than needed.
- Select the likely court office and Civil or Criminal case type.
- Add the case year only if it helps narrow the results.
- Complete Turnstile, choose Find Now, then sort or filter the loaded table.
The observed controls are reproduced below. At least one court and one case type must remain selected.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Party Name | Text, 100 characters | No | Full first and last name works best; first ten words are used. |
| Match all terms | Checkbox | Default checked | Controls compound search terms. |
| Case Year | Text, four digits | No | May be used as an alternate criterion. |
| Case Number | Text, 50 characters | No | Enter the final numeric segment. |
| Court Type | Checkboxes | At least one | Four Wilson County court offices. |
| Case Type | Checkboxes | At least one | Criminal or Civil. |
| Turnstile | Challenge | Yes | Find Now stays disabled until it passes. |
Wilson TNCRTINFO Search Controls
The official search interface below shows the party, year, number, court, and case-type controls together.

That form is specific to Wilson County trial records. It is not a statewide name index and does not include every local custodian.
The portal uses normalized lowercase terms and ignores soft separators. Hard separators split terms. Search Help also describes modest typo tolerance: one character for words of at least five characters and two for terms of at least nine. These rules can help with spelling, but they do not cure a wrong-court choice.
Searching by Case Number
TNCRTINFO's help uses 99GS1-2023-CR-12345 as a formatted example and tells the user to enter 12345, the numeric part after the last hyphen. Keep the full number for later confirmation, but use the requested suffix in the Case Number box. A four-digit year can be added as a separate criterion.
Do not treat the sample prefix as a universal Wilson County format. Circuit Civil, Circuit Criminal, General Sessions, Family, and older records can use different identifiers. If the suffix does not work, vary one input at a time, verify the court type, and ask the clerk how that office indexes the number.
Choose the Wilson Court Office
The portal's contact and search choices are Circuit Criminal, Circuit Civil, General Sessions, and General Sessions Division 3. The official selector shown below makes that boundary visible.

Start Circuit Criminal for felonies and criminal jury cases. Use General Sessions for county misdemeanors, traffic matters, and small claims. Circuit Civil covers its general civil docket. Division 3 is the family choice. Chancery, Probate, Juvenile, and city municipal courts are not options on this form and must be sought through their custodians.
What a Case Search Returns
A result can lead to case details or case events. Capture the displayed number, court, case type, filing date, parties and roles, attorney fields when present, status, chronological entries, settings, and disposition. The civil sample also shows case style, last activity, and hearing notes. A missing image does not prove that a filing is absent.
| Case Number | The clerk's identifier; preserve it exactly after locating the match. |
|---|---|
| Style or Parties | The case caption and roles, not a statement of who prevailed. |
| Case Type | A broad Civil or Criminal category plus the selected court. |
| Filed Date | The recorded date the matter or filing entered the clerk's system. |
| Case Events | A chronological list of filings, hearings, orders, and other activity. |
| Status or Disposition | The recorded posture or outcome, which must be read with later entries. |
Last activity is not automatically the final disposition. Likewise, a case style names the parties but does not reveal the judgment.
Wilson Search Result Limits
TNCRTINFO returns no more than 2,500 rows. After results load, columns can be sorted ascending and then descending, while a filter box narrows text already visible in the table. The filter is not a new search of hidden records. A very broad name query can therefore hide a useful match beyond the cap.
Find Now disabled? Complete the Turnstile challenge first. If it will not load, use the clerk contact, document request, or courthouse counter rather than assuming no case exists.
Search Help may remove terms from the end when too few results appear. Use a full name first, then change one item at a time. Sorting by a known year or court can separate common-name results without adding unsupported facts.
Statewide vs County Case Search
Tennessee has no single statewide search for Wilson County trial dockets. The Tennessee Public Case History searches Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and Court of Criminal Appeals matters filed after September 1, 2006. Its data is stated to be current through the end of the prior business day. Use it only when a Wilson County matter has reached an appellate court.
| Feature | Tennessee Public Case History | Wilson TNCRTINFO |
|---|---|---|
| Coverage | State appellate courts | Four Wilson trial-court choices |
| Search keys | Appellate number, style, party, organization | Name, year, number, court, case type |
| Best use | An appeal | A local Circuit or General Sessions matter |
| Not included | County trial docket as such | Chancery, Probate, Juvenile, municipal, appellate |
Federal cases form a third layer through PACER and the Middle District of Tennessee. They are not Wilson County court cases merely because an event occurred in the county.
Wilson Results Are Finding Aids
The portal terms state that online information is not the official clerk record. The landing screen below gives public Search, Contact, and Subscription Login routes, but the inspected pages did not publish a subscription price or define all added features.

Use a search result to identify the court and docket number. Ask Debbie Moss's Circuit Court Clerk office for an official file or certified copy where it is the custodian. Chancery and Probate requests go to Millie Sloan, the Clerk & Master. A free search and a paid or certified document are different products.
Access and Restricted Cases
Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 34 starts with public access but recognizes statutes, rules, sealing orders, and other exceptions. Juvenile dependency matters are closed under Rule 114, and adoption, protected family, sealed civil, expunged criminal, and redacted records can be limited. TNCRTINFO does not expose a Juvenile option.
No result can reflect a wrong court, an older file, municipal custody, a portal limit, or a restriction. It cannot prove that no matter exists. Ask the responsible clerk what public information can be released. A Tennessee Public Records Act request cannot override a statute or court order, and it does not require an office to create a new record.
When Wilson Search Finds Nothing
First, remove a partial first name, try the numeric suffix, add the year, and check the other plausible Wilson court choice. Next, identify whether the case belongs to Chancery, Probate, Juvenile, Lebanon, Mt. Juliet, or Watertown. Older files may require the Wilson County Archives. Appellate and federal cases use their own systems.
The court's online document request shown below asks for contact details, court, date, docket number, document type, and comments.

Use that request when the docket is located but a document is needed. For an official file check, call or visit the correct counter. Circuit and Family offices are at 134 S College Street; Criminal and General Sessions offices are at 115 E High Street. The full Wilson County court calendar process applies when the missing item is a hearing date.
